Problems to Possibilities

Philanthropy: Forward members in college or have recently graduated are invited to take part Problems to Possibilities (P2P), a program that challenges students to think differently about entrepreneurship and change-making.

Hosted by North Dakota State University Center for Entrepreneurship and Family Business, P2P leverages systems-thinking and local networks to drive social, environmental, and economic progress.

Being a part of the program encouraged me to dig deep within myself to find my passion and how I could make long lasting change in the community. The project game me insight on current issues people face to living healthy lives and empowered me to continue working to make a difference in the lives of others.

Problems to Possibilities Event

Hosted by North Dakota State University's Center for Entrepreneurship, Problems to Possibilities is the regional program and competition that utilizes the Map the System framework. By participating with NDSU, either on a local or virtual team, you will have the opportunity to share your project and connect with change-makers nationally and internationally.

Probe a problem. Map its system. Pitch your solution.

Formerly called Map the System, Problems to Possibilities encourages a learning first approach to change making - one where people take the time to understand and build upon existing efforts before attempting something new; with the ultimate goal of driving transformational change.

This is our fourth year running this program with Onnolee Nordstrom at North Dakota State University. Past participants have traveled to Oxford, England to compete in the global competition, winning second place worldwide, and they've also presented their research to North Dakota Governor Burgum. Opportunities continue to expand each year.

While this is primarily a regional and global competition, current college students can earn college credit and be eligible to receive an academic scholarship up to $1000. You do not need to be an NDSU student to participate.
